The history of Macys begins in 1858 when it was founded by Rowland Hussey Macy. When the company began the company logo consisted of a star in form or in the other. The logo has a star even today. What is the reason for this fixation with stars in the logo? Well, it is because the founder of the chain, Mr. Macy had got a tattoo with a star while he worked on a whaling ship as teenager.
